A pallet bracket, pallet and application thereof The scope of the invention
The present invention relates to pallet fittings for holding a side support of a pallet as well as a pallet comprising a load surface with supporting transverse beams and side supports extending upwardly relative to the load surface, one or more of the side supports being removably connected to the load surface via a pallet bracket.
The invention further relates to the use of such a pallet.
The prior art
Pallets are widely used to transport non-uniform or uniform cargo, as the pallets are typically prepared for some form of standardized handling method, such as pallet lifters, forklifts and other, as well as various fully or semi-automatic equipment for packing the cargo on these pallets.
In connection with the production of Christmas trees and ornamental vegetables, a special pallet type has been developed - a so-called Erholm pallet - on which Christmas trees or ornamental vegetables can be stored and transported from the harvest site to the dealer.
Said Erholm pallet was developed for a special semi-automatic palletizing system, an example of which can be found in DK 177271 B1. In order for this pallet to be used to transport downed Christmas trees and to fit it in a common storage space on a truck or in a standard ISO container, the cargo surface of these pallets typically has a dimension of about 1.9 x 1.2 meters - where a standard European pallet (EUR pallet) measures 0.8 x 1.2 meters.
From DK 172068 B1, it is known to design such a pallet with U-brackets mounted on the transverse beams of the load surface, in which the side supports of the pallet can be mounted so that they can be removed again so that it can be economically attractive to reuse the pallet.
However, it has since been found that these side supports are easily pulled up by the U-braces during palletizing and subsequent transport and it is difficult to mount the U-braces on the pallet.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide means which make it easier to handle and use a pallet.
The invention
The invention relates to a pallet bracket for holding a side support on a pallet. The pallet bracket comprises an internal pallet mounting surface comprising pallet fixing means intended to fix said pallet bracket relative to the pallet. The pallet bracket also comprises an inner side support surface comprising side support fixing means intended to fix the pallet bracket relative to the side support.
It is advantageous to provide the pallet mounting surface with pallet fixing means so that the pallet bracket can be fixed simply in relation to the pallet. And it is advantageous to provide the lateral support of the abutment surface with lateral support fixing means so that the lateral support can be fixed in the pallet bracket and thereby does not slip off the bracket during use of the pallet.
Eg. when the pallet bracket is mounted on a pallet that is - or is about to be - packed with Christmas trees or ornamental greenery, it is important that the side supports do not extend substantially beyond the base area of the pallet loading surface, so that side supports - and loads - do not damaged during transport and other handling. While reading the Christmas trees, therefore, various means are used to ensure that the side supports remain in a fairly vertical position. These means may include, inter alia, transverse cords or chains attached to two opposite lateral supports across the load. However, the trees are compressed from above during loading to ensure that as many trees as possible can be loaded onto each pallet, and this compression, among other things, can cause an upward force on the transverse strings. Other things during handling and transport could also exert an upward force on the side supports.
It is therefore advantageous that the side support abutment surface of the pallet bracket is provided with side support fixing means which ensure that the side supports cannot be released from the pallet and the pallet bracket, especially when the side supports are in a vertical position.
In this context, the term '' pallet fixing means '' shall be construed as any form of pallet fixing device suitable for fixing the position of the pallet bracket relative to the pallet.
It should also be noted that in this context, the term '' side support fixing means '' shall be construed as any form of side support fixing device suitable for fixing the position of the lateral support relative to the pallet bracket.
An aspect of the invention is that said pallet abutment surface and said lateral support abutment surface are arranged substantially perpendicular to each other.
The lateral support surface is, of course, required to extend substantially parallel to the lateral support and the lateral support surface is therefore typically arranged substantially perpendicular to the pallet loading surface - so that the lateral support may extend upward (substantially perpendicular) to the load surface. By arranging the pallet abutment surface and the lateral support abutment substantially perpendicular to one another, the pallet abutment surface will be substantially parallel to the loading surface and this is advantageous in that it allows the pallet bracket to be mounted very easily on the pallet by lifting the pallet slightly a little ground, after which the pallet bracket is pushed under the pallet. Gravity - possibly further supplemented by a downward force effect, e.g. in the form of a stamp with the foot - will then drive the pallet fixing means on the pallet surface and the pallet against each other, so that they engage mutually without the use of tools.
An aspect of the invention is that said pallet fixing means are integrated into said pallet abutment surface and / or where said lateral support fixing means are integrated into said lateral support abutment surface.
It is manufacturing and logistically advantageous to mold the fixing means as an integral part of the contact surfaces. At the same time, this will also ensure that the fixing agents are always ready for use on the abutment surfaces.
An aspect of the invention is that said pallet abutment surface and said lateral support abutment surface are joined by side plates arranged to extend on each side of a supporting transverse stream on said pallet.
It is advantageous to connect pallet and side support surfaces to side panels, since it ensures a strong and form-stable bracket. And since the side plates extend simultaneously along the sides of a supporting transverse bed, these may also help to secure the position of the pallet bracket on the pallet.
One aspect of the invention is that said pallet abutment surface, said lateral support abutment surface and said side plates are formed by bending one plate.
It is advantageous to mold all essential parts of the bracket by bending one and the same sheet of piece as it reduces the manufacturing cost and simplifies the manufacturing process.
An aspect of the invention is that said pallet abutment surface, said lateral support abutment surface and / or said side plates are provided with one or more clearance holes.
It is advantageous to provide pallet abutment, side support abutment and / or side plates with free holes as this allows further attachment of the bracket to the pallet by means of screws, nails or the like mounted through these clearance holes.
An aspect of the invention is that said pallet fittings comprise one or more end abutment surfaces which are substantially parallel to but displaced relative to said lateral abutment surface.
It is advantageous to provide the pallet bracket with a plurality of end abutments displaced relative to the lateral abutment surface, so as to ensure that the abutment abutment surface is always kept at a substantially determined distance from the pallet. This creates a hole of a substantially fixed size in which the lateral support can thus be uniformly mounted.
An aspect of the invention is that said end abutment surfaces are offset relative to said lateral abutment surface by between 5% and 200%, preferably between 10% and 100% and most preferably between 15% and 50% of the thickness of said lateral support more than the thickness of said abutment surface. stanchions.
If the distance between the end faces and the side support face becomes too small in relation to the thickness of the side support, then it becomes too difficult to mount the side support in the side support hole formed between the end face faces and the side support face. If the distance between the end faces and the side support face becomes too large in relation to the thickness of the side support, then the gap in the side support hole becomes too large and it becomes difficult to ensure that the side supports support the pallet load properly. The above aspect ratio ranges therefore represent an advantageous relationship between utility and function.
One aspect of the invention is that said pallet fixing means extend between 1 and 100 mm, preferably between 3 and 50 mm and most preferably between 5 and 30 mm from said inner pallet abutment surface.
If the pallet fixers are too low, they will not be able to properly engage the pallet and if the pallet fixers are too high, it will be difficult and expensive to make them so stable that they do not bend, and to ensure that they are always drilled into the pallet. , so that the pallet substantially or at least almost abuts the inner pallet abutment surface. The above height ranges therefore represent an advantageous relationship between function and price.
One aspect of the invention is that said lateral support fixing means extend between 0.2 and 100 mm, preferably between 0.9 and 50 mm, and most preferably between 2 and 20 mm from said inner lateral support surface.
If the side support fixing means are too low, they will not be able to properly engage the side support and if the side support fixing means are too high, it will be difficult to release the side support from the side support fixing means again. The above elevation ranges therefore represent an advantageous relationship to function.
One aspect of the invention is that said pallet fittings comprise a side support bottom surface substantially parallel to said pallet abutment surface.
It is advantageous to provide the pallet bracket with a side support bottom surface, so that the side support is always mounted at the same height in the pallet bracket.
The invention further relates to a pallet comprising a load surface with supporting transverse beams, as well as side supports extending upwardly in relation to the load surface, where one or more of the lateral supports is removably connected to the pallet via a pallet bracket. The pallet is characterized in that the pallet bracket engages a support surface of one of the transverse tubes and the support surface is substantially parallel to the loading surface.
The side supports typically extend around 2.4 meters upwards and if pre-assembled the empty pallets cannot be stacked during transport - which is very inefficient. The side supports are therefore typically supplied separately from the loading surface, so that they can be mounted immediately by use of nails or screws. However, Christmas trees are typically harvested in November - December, when it is both cold and dark, which further complicates this lateral mounting. In addition, these pallets are typically not recyclable as this type of assembly often makes recycling impossible or at least makes it economically unattractive.
It is therefore advantageous that the side supports are removably connected to the loading surface so that they can be easily mounted on the loading surface when they are to be used and can easily be removed when the pallet is emptied at the dealer and the empty pallet must be returned to the Christmas tree manufacturer for recycling. .
In addition, it is advantageous for the pallet bracket to engage with the support surface (ie the surface of the litter facing the substrate - or in other words the surface through which the weight of the pallet is transferred to the substrate) of a transverse sprinkler, the pallet bracket thereby easily can be mounted by lifting the litter (and at least part of the pallet) slightly off the ground, pushing the pallet bracket under the litter and then lowering the litter again so that the weight of the pallet will ensure that the pallet bracket engages with the litter - and the pallet Optionally, weight can be simply supplemented with a hard pressure on the bed to ensure effective intervention.
It should be noted that any reference to orientation - such as up, upper, lower, transverse, etc., must be seen in the light of the normal orientation of the pallet during use, ie when the loading surface is arranged with the springs at the bottom - typically against a support - and with the side supports protruding upwards . Eg. the word '' upward '' in the above context is to be understood only as the lateral supports extending away from the loading surface - so that they are arranged to extend in a region about perpendicular from the loading surface - e.g. +/- 10 ° or +/- 20 ° or more.
The invention also relates to the use of a pallet according to any of the aforementioned pallets for use in stacking and distributing Christmas trees and ornaments.
It is particularly advantageous to use a pallet according to the above invention in connection with stacking and distribution of Christmas trees and ornamental vegetables, since this pallet ensures a safe and cost-effective handling of these products.
List of Figures
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings, in which: 1 shows an example of a pallet with pallet brackets, top view, Fig. 2 is a side view of an empty pallet; FIG. 3 shows a pallet loaded with Christmas trees, seen from the end, fig. 4 is a perspective view of a pallet bracket; FIG. 5 is a side view of a middle section of a pallet bracket; FIG. 6 is a plan view of a pallet bracket; FIG. 7 is a sectional side view of a pallet bracket mounted on a pallet; and FIG. 8 is a side view of a pallet bracket mounted on a pallet.
Detailed description
FIG. 1 shows an example of a pallet 1 with pallet bracket 5 according to an aspect of the invention, seen from above.
In this embodiment of the invention, the pallet 1 comprises a loading surface 2, which in this case consists of seven boards 13 arranged on and connected to three underlying transverse beams 3. In another embodiment, the loading surface 2 could comprise several boards 13, such as eight, nine, ten. , twelve or more, or the loading surface 2 could comprise fewer boards 13, such as six, five, four or fewer. In one embodiment, instead of boards 13, the loading surface 2 could comprise a large plate that would extend substantially throughout the surface of the loading surface.
In another embodiment, boards 13 and sprinklers 3 could be shaped as a monolithic part, e.g. if the load surface 2 was molded in plastic or metal.
In this embodiment, the boards 13 are connected to the springs 3 by means of seams, but in another embodiment, the boards 13 could be connected to the springs 3 by other connecting means such as screws, glue, welding, bolts or other.
In this case, both sprinkles 3 and boards 13 extend substantially throughout the width and length of the pallet, respectively, but in another embodiment, one or more of the boards 13 and / or one or more of the sprinklers 13 may be shorter or longer than the others. boards 13 / sprinkles 3.
Most modern means of transport and systems are designed to handle European pallets with a size of 0.8 x 1.2 meters, and in this case the pallet 1 is therefore about 1.2 meters wide, for example. can stand two of these next to each other on a truck. In another embodiment of the invention, however, the width of the pallet could be both larger and smaller.
Most Christmas trees are not much over 1.9 meters when felled, and to ensure that the Christmas trees do not protrude beyond the ends of the pallet, the pallet 1 in this case is 1.9 meters long. However, in another embodiment, pallet 1 could be both longer and shorter.
In this embodiment, pallet 1 is provided with twice three side supports 4 arranged opposite each other along the periphery of the pallet, but in another embodiment, pallet 1 could comprise more side supports 4 - such as eight, ten, twelve or more - or fewer side supports 4 - such as four. three or two.
In this embodiment, the side supports can be turned in two ways, i.e. they are turned as they are now or they can be rotated 180 ° so that the side of the side supports 4 now facing inwards will instead face outwards. As explained in connection with Figure 2, the side supports 4 in this embodiment are provided with two strap holes 21 near the top 17, but in another embodiment, these strap holes 21 would not be present or arranged in any other way to allow for the side supports 4 can also be turned - so that each side support 4 can be mounted in four different ways. Advantageously, each side support can be mounted in more than one way, with damage or other on one of the sides at the ends of the side support preventing the side support 4 from engaging properly with the side support fixing means 9 on the pallet bracket's side support surface 8 (explained further below). .
FIG. 2 is a side view of an empty pallet 1.
In this embodiment, the side supports 13 are barely 2.4 meters long, so that the pallet 1 can be loaded into a typical closed carriage. In another embodiment, however, the side supports 4 could be shorter, such as about 2 meters, 1.6 meters, 1.2 meters or shorter e.g. to fit a specific bmg or transport method, or the side supports 4 could be longer such as about 2.6 meters, 2.8 meters, 3 meters or longer if loading equipment and / or transport method allowed this.
In this embodiment, the side supports 4 are provided with two strap holes 21 near the top 17. These holes 21 must be bent to tear a transverse strap (see Fig. 3), thereby securing the load and stabilizing the pallet 1.
FIG. 3 shows a pallet 1 loaded with Christmas trees 20, seen from the end.
Before the Christmas trees 20 are stacked on pallet 1, they will typically be mounted with a tight wrapping net or the like to ensure that the perimeter of the tree is reduced so that more trees 20 can be stacked on pallet 1.
When a certain number of layers of Christmas trees 20 are loaded onto pallet 1, the loading equipment will press down on top of the Christmas tree stack to reduce the size of the stack, thus increasing the capacity of the pallet. This compression can e.g. happen when half and a whole stack is obtained. When pressed at half stack, it must also be ensured that the stack does not simply expand to its original size when the downward pressure is removed and additional trees 20 loaded. This is at least partially ensured by a transverse strap 22 being mounted between opposite side supports 4 before the downward pressure is removed. At the same time, these halfway straps 22 also help to stabilize pallet 1 and ensure that the lateral supports are not ground out at an outward angle.
Also, when pallet 1 is fully loaded, the load will be pressed down and a top strap 22 will be mounted in the strap holes which can be seen in FIG. 2. In another embodiment, of course, more or less straps 22 could be mounted.
When the straps 22 are mounted while the stack is compressed, it is also evident that the straps 22 can apply an upward force to the lateral supports 4 which could potentially pull the lateral supports 4 free of the load surface 2. However, in this embodiment, the outward pressure of the load on the lateral supports 4 will ensure that the side supports 4 are pressed hard against the side support fixing means (See, for example, Fig. 7) on the side support surface of the pallet bracket (See, for example, Fig. 7), so that the fixation of the vertical position of the side supports in the pallet fittings 5 is reinforced the greater outwardly and thus upwardly. - the impact of the side supports 4 is exposed.
In this embodiment, substantially all of the pallet parts are made of wood, but in another embodiment, one or more of the pallet parts could be made of plastic, aluminum, steel, another metal, composite material or any combination thereof.
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a pallet bracket 5.
In this embodiment, the pallet bracket 1 is provided with an inner pallet abutment surface 6 which comprises pallet fixing means 7 in the form of triangular spikes pointing upwards from the pallet abutment surface 6, so that these pegs will be mashed up in a pallet litter 3 placed on this surface 6.1. the pallet abutment surface 6 provided with six substantially identical pallet fixing means 7, but in another embodiment of the invention, the pallet abutment surface 6 could be provided with more pallet fixing means 7 such as eight, ten, fourteen or more, the pallet abutment surface 6 could be provided with fewer pallet fixing means 7. , three, two or one and / or pallet fixing means 7 could be different in shape and / or size.
In addition, the pallet bracket 1 is provided with an inner lateral support surface 8 comprising side support fixing means 9 in the form of cone-shaped spikes pointing outward from the lateral support surface 8, so that these spikes are mast into a lateral support 4 which is pressed against the lateral support surface 8. 8 provided with five substantially the same side support fixing means 9, but in another embodiment of the invention, the pallet abutment surface 6 could be provided with several lateral support fixing means 9 such as six, eight, ten, fourteen or more, the lateral support surface 8 could be provided with fewer side support fixings 9, three, two or one and / or lateral support fixing means 9 could be different in shape and / or size.
In this embodiment, the pallet abutment surface 6 and side support abutment surface 8 are connected via two side plates 10 extending along the sides of the bracket, so that the pallet abutment surface 6 or the abutment abutment surface 8 can be subjected to a large outward force effect without the distance or angle between the pallet abutment surface 6 and the lateral abutment surface 6. is increased. In other words, these side plates 10 will ensure that the bracket 5 is form-stable even under heavy stresses, e.g. when the bracket 1 is mounted on a pallet sprinkler 3 and a side support 4 - mounted in the pallet bracket 5 - is pressed hard outwards by a load on the pallet 1.
In this embodiment, pallet system surface 6 is formed of two separate pallet system surface members, each extending from a side plate 10, but in another embodiment, the pallet system surface 6 could be formed as a whole plate.
In another embodiment, the pallet abutment surface 6 could extend directly from the lateral abutment abutment surface 8 and in such an embodiment, the bracket 1 could possibly extend. instead, or also be reinforced by one or more rods, tubes, plate parts or other extending between the pallet abutment surface 6 and the lateral abutment abutment surface 8.
FIG. Figure 5 shows a section through the center of a pallet bracket, as seen from the side, and Figure 6 shows a pallet bracket, viewed from above.
In this embodiment, the pallet abutment surface 6 and the lateral abutment abutment surface 8 are substantially perpendicular to each other, but in another embodiment the internal angle between these surfaces 6, 8 could be more than 90 ° such as 92 °, 95 °, 100 ° or more e.g. . to ensure that the lateral support surface 8 is parallel to the lateral support 4 if it is slightly angled outwards due to impact from the load, or to facilitate easier release of the lateral support 4 after use. In another embodiment, the interior angle between the surfaces could instead be less than 90 ° such as 88 °, 85 °, 80 ° or less e.g. to ensure that the side supports 4 are angled over the pallet loading surface 2 so that they are essentially never pressed beyond the base surface of the pallet or to ensure that the side support flexing means 9 engage effectively with the side support 4.
In this embodiment, the pallet fixing means 7 are formed by cutting two sides of a triangle, after which the cut tip is pressed upwards so that the tip of the triangle points obliquely up to the lateral abutment surface 8. This angle of the pallet fixing means 7 causes the pallet fixing means 7 to the more powerful the pallet bracket 1 is pressed (or pulled) outwards (for example, by the load pressing on the side supports which push the side support surface 8 outwards) the more the pallet fixing means 7 will be pressed (pulled) into the pallet litter 3.
However, in another embodiment, the pallet fixing means 7 could be arranged at a different angle - such as perpendicular to the pallet abutment surface 6 - and the pallet fixing means 7 could be formed in some other way - such as spikes or other embossed pallet touching surface 6 or spikes or other attached to it. pallet plant surface 6 e.g. by welding, gluing, riveting or other.
In this embodiment, the lateral support fixing means 9 are designed as cones embossed in the lateral support surface 8, but in another embodiment, the lateral support fixing means 9 may be configured in other ways e.g. as described above in connection with the pallet fixing means 7.
In this embodiment, the lateral support fixing means 9 extend substantially perpendicularly from the lateral support surface 8, but in another embodiment, one or more of the lateral support fixing means 9 could e.g. be angled downwards to create a barbs effect or angled upwards to ensure easier release of the side support 4.
In this embodiment, the entire bracket 5 is bent by one and the same plate to simplify manufacturing and reduce production costs, but in another embodiment, one or more of the bracket parts could be welded together, riveted together or the bracket 5 could otherwise be composed of several individual parts. In another embodiment, parts of or all of the bracket 5 could also be made by casting, such that e.g. pallet fixing means 7 or lateral support fixing means 9 would be formed in this molding process.
In this embodiment, the entire bracket 5 is made of steel which is subsequently galvanized, but in another embodiment, all or part of the bracket 1 could be made of stainless steel, aluminum, plastic, a composite material or a completely different material suitable for pallet brackets 1 .
In this embodiment, the lateral support surface 8 and both side plates 10 are further provided with clearance holes 11, through which a screw or a nail (not shown) can be fitted into the underlying straw 3, thereby securing the bracket 5 further to the straw 3 and / or the lateral support.
FIG. 7 shows a section through the center of a pallet bracket 5 mounted on a pallet 1, as seen from the side, and FIG. 8 shows the same pallet bracket 5 without section, viewed from the side.
In this embodiment, the pallet bracket 5 comprises some end abutment surfaces 12 which are substantially parallel to the lateral abutment surface 8, so that when the bracket 5 is pressed against the pallet 1 - so that these end abutment surfaces 12 abut the pallet 1 - then the abutment abutment surface 8 is in a fixed position. defined distance from the pallet 1 so as to form a side support hole 23 of a certain size.
In this embodiment, the bracket 5 comprises two upper end abutment surfaces 18 which are formed as an edge of the side plates 10 parallel to the side support abutment surface 8 and arranged to abut the outside of one of the outer boards of the pallet 13. The bracket 5 also comprises in this embodiment. two lower end face surfaces 19 formed as an end piece of the pallet face faces 6 bent upwardly to form a face 19 parallel to the side support face 8 and arranged to abut the end of the bed 3 on which the bracket 5 is mounted.
In another embodiment, one or more of the end bearing surfaces 12, 18, 19 may be arranged to abut against other of the parts or surfaces of the pallet and / or the pallet bracket 5 could comprise fewer or more end bearing surfaces 12, 18, 19.
In this embodiment, all end faces 12, 18, 19 are substantially flush with all faces 12, 18, 19 substantially offset from the same distance from the side support face 8. In another embodiment, however, one or more of end end faces 12, 18, 19 be offset at different distances than other end face surfaces 12, 18, 19.
In this embodiment, the pallet bracket 5 further comprises a side support bottom surface 14 which is substantially parallel to the pallet abutment surface 6, so that a side support placed in the side support hole 23 will abut against this side support bottom surface 14, so that the side support 4 is always mounted at the same height. In this embodiment, the side support bottom surface 14 is formed as a flap which is folded in from the side support surface 8 to form a bottom in the side support hole 23.
In another embodiment, however, the lateral support surface 14 could be shaped differently or the lateral support surface 14 could be completely avoided, so that the vertical movement of the lateral support down through the lateral support hole 23 would be limited by the lateral support 4 striking the support pallet 1.
Figures 7 and 8 show a pallet 1 comprising a load surface 2 with supporting transverse sprinklers 3, these sprinklers 3 comprising a support surface 16 on which the pallet 1 rests on the substrate under normal use. Thus, the loading surface 2 and the supporting surface 16 are substantially parallel surfaces 2, 16 arranged opposite to each other on the pallet 1. The side supports 4 are removably connected to the pallet 1 via a pallet bracket 5, so that the side supports 4 extend upwards from the loading surface 2 .
The pallet bracket 5 engages the support surface 16 of the transverse sprinkler 3 so that the position of the pallet bracket is substantially fixed relative to the pallet 1. Then, when the lateral support 4 is pressed outwards, the lateral support 4 will be pressed out against the lateral support fixing means 9 so that the lateral support 4 goes in engagement with the lateral support fixing means 9, thereby substantially reducing the risk of the lateral support 4 being pulled up by the lateral support hole 23.
When the pallet 1 is emptied again, the lateral support 4 can be easily removed by an upward pull in the lateral support 4, possibly supplemented by a small impact - e.g. a slight kick - into the side support 4 so that it is released by the side support fixing means 9 and can easily be pulled up.
In the foregoing, the invention is described in connection with specific designs of pallets 1, side supports 4, pallet fittings 5 and other, as shown in the drawings, but it will be clear to one skilled in the art that the invention can be varied in numerous ways within the scope of the following requirements.
